RICHMOND – The Eastern Kentucky University cheerleading team will be holding an open gym event for all high school juniors, seniors, and current college students interested in cheering at EKU on Saturday, March 24 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

The EKU cheerleading team attends all home and away football, home men’s basketball and home women’s basketball games in addition to other special events throughout the campus and community. Partial scholarships are available to cheerleading team members.

The event will be held in the gymnastics room in the Begley Building on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University.

The cost to attend is $20. All participants should bring water and wear comfortable clothes.

Current EKU cheerleaders will be giving a tour of the EKU campus starting at 9 a.m.

The event will also include a tumble and stunt session along with a Q&A about requirements for cheering at the college level.

Pizza will be provided for lunch.

Prior to participating in any open gyms, candidates must completely fill-out an EKU Cheerleading Participation Waiver.
